North Carolina Rep. Renee Ellmers and Rep. Jackie Walorski of Indiana led a group of lawmakers who forced House Republicans to drop a bill that would ban most abortions at 20 weeks or later, ahead of a vote scheduled to coincide today with the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
Lawyers from the U.S. Justice Department will recommend that no civil rights charges be brought against Darren Wilson, the police officer who fatally shot an unarmed teenager in Ferguson, Missouri. However, the final Justice Department report has not been completed, and the final decision rests with Attorney General Eric Holder.
