First Drip (2/10/15): Whole Foods coming to Uptown, Samsung TVs too smart, more

Uptowners and South Enders starving for a grocery store, rejoice: Whole Foods is expected to announce it's opening a location at the corner of South Caldwell and Stonewall later this week.

Is Duke Energy trying to be a good neighbor to the environment now? The Business Journal reports the utility purchased a major stake in a California solar company.

Today, the names of almost 4,000 people lynched between 1877 to 1950 in 12 Southern states was released, thanks to the work of Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama. “What people don’t realize here is just how many there were, and how close. Places they drive by every day,” said E.M. Beck, a professor at University of Georgia.

Be careful what you say around your Samsung Smart TV — it might be a little too smart for its own good. WCNC brings attention to the company's privacy policy, which reads: "Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition."
