Police are reportedly still searching for a the driver and two others involved with a high-speed chase that began in Rowan County early this morning and ended in north Charlotte. The rented U-Haul truck was allegedly speeding down I-85 and refused to stop when police attempted to pull it over near Concord Mills. The resulting chase reportedly went through Rowan County and then ended on North Tryon Street on Orchard Trace. The driver and two passengers jumped from the vehicle and ran and have still not been found.

Multiple news outlets reported a truck fire at a Marathon gas station in Cotswold this morning. According to Joe Bruno with WSOC, workers with DOT construction pulled into the gas station after the truck caught fire and were able to get out before anyone was hurt. As can be seen on the below video, firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the flames.

An Independence High School student was reportedly struck by a car on Lawyers Road near Harri Ann Drive. The student was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but is expected to be O.K. It is unclear how the incident happened.

Patsy Kinsey, friend of VanLandingham Estate owner Billy Maddalon, led opposition to a new development and swim club on the historic grounds last night, calling it an "emotional" decision. The council voted 8 - 4 against the plan, with some other members stating they would vote whichever way Kinsey voted, as she represents the Plaza Midwood area where VanLandingham Estate is located.

The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer debuted last night during Monday Night Football, and much of it confirmed things fans had been speculating for months. For example, the main characters appear to be Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, and Finn, played by John Boyega. However, some were surprised by dialogue implying that Luke Skywalker's actions have been mythologized and are now just stories passed along by word-of-mouth, which would mean his goals at rebuilding the Jedi Academy and keeping the peace failed. The trailer can be seen below:
