Police made two arrests following a fatal shooting in Rock Hill early this morning in which a 20-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in a car on Cherry Laurel Lane. The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. Detectives arrested two men in an apartment complex on the same street. Police say they have recovered the murder weapon and charged 24-year-old Ernest Thompson with murder, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and two attempted murder charges. Lauren Rawlinson, 24, was charged with accessory after the fact of murder. (Fox46 Staff)

A vehicle caught flame early this morning following a wreck on I-77 in southwest Charlotte. The driver, who reportedly lost control of the car and slammed into a guard rail, was not seriously injured. (WBTV Web Staff)

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect in a shooting that took place last night in Kings Mountain. Todd Owens allegedly shot James Smith, Jr., in the chest yesterday evening. Smith is said to be in stable condition. Owens was last seen in a black Honda Accord with rims and tinted windows. (Caryn Little, WCCB)

Apparently a local radio station in Morganton showed up to a Roses Discount Store for one of those fake concerts involving nineties music stars — Fred Durst in this case — playing in middle-of-nowhere non-venues. Our professional, journalistic take on this situation: lol. (Joe Bruno, WSOC)
