I hope we all accept the fact that, with all the problems plaguing the country, we need to be looking at long-term successes and failures. The whole "100 days" thing is just dead and done ... and lame.

• Fires in South Carolina — which, thanks to the efforts of brave firefighters, seem to be going out

• County leaders accused of wasteful spending. One example of this was, according to a bulletin released by County Manager Harry Jones, the $100,000 spent on food for a two-day county commissioner retreat. What the fuck were they eating? Next time I'd suggest buying something from the value menu.
• Hey congrats to Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton for being crowned Miss USA, but Miss California gets on the wack list for her anti-gay comments.
