John Schacht was CL’s Music Editor from 2003-2005, and is now Editor in Chief of Shuffle Magazine. He has written about music for national publications (more of them insolvent every day) like Harp, Paste, Blurt, iPod Monthly, Popular Music & Society, and more weeklies than he can legally recall. His articles have also appeared on the intertubes at sites such as Salon.com, Allmusic.com, Popmatters.com, and Pitchforkmedia.com. In his spare time he teaches Pop Music & American Culture at UNCC, and Freelance Journalism at CPCC. His current favorite hobby is napping.
