Concert Announcement / News Annual Christmas Jam set for Dec. 11

The 22nd Annual Christmas Jam will take place on Dec. 11 this year in Asheville, N.C.
Taking place at the Asheville Civic Center, the show will feature The Steve Miller Band, The Warren Haynes Band, Gregg Allman, John Bell of Widespread Panic, John Hermann of Widespread Panic, Drive-By Truckers, Umphrey's McGee and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
There will be a two-day pre-sale via Christmas Jam Ticketing starting this Thursday, Oct. 14 at noon until Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. EST. VIP packages will also be available.
The public on-sale date is Oct. 23 through Ticketmaster and the Civic Center Box Office.

Don't call it a comeback, but El DeBarge is once again part of the R&B conversation. The star from the '80s who made pop soul hits as lead singer of the group, DeBarge, as well as a seeing solo success, is coming back to Charlotte later this month and has a new album due out later this year.
You can see El DeBarge at CPCC's Halton Theatre (1206 Elizabeth Avenue, Charlotte) on Friday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets go on sale Oct. 6 at www.carolinatix.org

We've given out the details before, but we're doing it again. The release party for Jeff Hahne’s Homebrew Vol. 4 will be held at the Neighborhood Theatre on Oct. 15 at 8 p.m.
Here’s the schedule:
8 p.m. – Bubonik Funk
8:30 p.m. – Electric Coma
9 p.m. – Mike Strauss Band
9:30 p.m. – Matrimony
10 p.m. – Isaac Spiveys
10:30 p.m. – Wiggle Wagons
11 p.m. – Grown Up Avenger Stuff
Yep, Matrimony is flying in from England to be here for the show, and Mike Strauss is pretty sure his entire seven-member band will be performing.
It’s gonna be a great show and the best part — it’s free! You can also pick up a FREE CD while you’re there. The CD is sponsored by the Visulite Theatre, Rock University and Common Market.

Fans won't be able to reminisce with hip hop duo, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, at Amos' next month as planned.
Their Oct. 16 show at Amos' Southend was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict with their "new management" group. An apology was sent out from the show's promoter and Etix.com has refunds on the way for those who'd pre-ordered their tickets.

The Avett Brothers return to North Carolina for a very special celebration of their new release, Live, Volume 3. The first 400 fans to pre-order Live, Volume 3 on CD or DVD at Manifest Disc in Charlotte will receive a wristband that gains admission to the performance and signing. In addition, folks who pre-order will receive a limited edition Avett Brothers bandana.One item signed per person. Time and space are limited.
