Subaru River Jam kicks off tonight and announced its band schedule... and it kicks the crap out of the Epicentre's Alive After Five band schedule.
So, the Epicentre is only getting one great non-cover band this season in the Blue Dogs, but check out the River Jam schedule.
It's got a few cover bands, but for the most part it's a bunch of local bands and some great regional talent like Ten Toes Up and Truckstop Preachers... See you by the rapids:

Tonight's Iris Dement concert at the Neighborhood Theatre has been cancelled. According to the venue's Web site, the show will be rescheduled. Refunds will be issued in the next seven days.

Pollstar.com has listed Sugar Ray as playing at Amos' Southend on Aug. 11.

I'll keep this simple - I think the lineup for this year's Food Lion Speed Street is disappointing. One can only hope that more bands will be added.

Edwin McCain, with special guest The Freddy Jones Band, will perform at the Fillmore Charlotte on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 8 through LiveNation.com.
This is the third show announced for the new Fillmore after Corey Smith and Gov't Mule.
Two shows have now been announced for the Uptown Amphitheatre — The Fray and The Offspring.
