Giveaway / News Win tickets to Bonnaroo!

We're giving away two pairs of tickets to the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival next week in Manchester, Tenn.
Here's the deal —
Simply comment on this thread with a valid e-mail address (we need to tell you that you won) and let us know the bands you'd love to see at this year's festival, or the bands you think music editor Jeff Hahne should check out while he's there.
The festival is from June 10-13, so we'll have the drawing on Monday morning — we're literally going to throw e-mail addresses in a hat and pick random winners. Each e-mail address will only be entered once. Because of the quick turnaround, you need to be able to pick up the tickets at our Charlotte office — we won't be able to mail them so you can get them in time.
Also, we suggest you subscribe to music editor Jeff Hahne's Twitter feed as he'll be Tweeting and blogging from Bonnaroo all weekend.

Guitarist/singer Jamie McLean and the Jamie McLean Band are getting set to release their latest album, Completely. Until April 13, you can download the album at McLean's Web site and pay what you want for the album — nothing or as much as you'd like.

Giveaway / News Win AFI tickets and a meet-and greet!

Are you a big AFI fan? The band will be in town, in support of its new album Crash Love, on Saturday, March 13, for a concert at The Fillmore Charlotte with The Loved Ones and Scarlet Grey. To go along with the show, we're giving away two tickets and a chance to meet the band before the show.
So, how do you win? We want to know why you're such a big AFI fan — why do you want to meet the band? What does their music mean to you? What's your favorite story relating to their music or lyrics?
Post your response in the comments section below with your e-mail address so we can contact the winner. You have until the end of the day on Friday, March 5, to enter. On Monday, March 8, we'll post the winner's entry and notify them about how to claim their tickets, etc. At the end of the day on Friday, March 5, we'll choose the most creative or meaningful story as the winner.

Giveaway / News Phish giveaway

There's a new biography of Phish out in stores now, on DaCapo Books, by former Rolling Stone senior editor Parke Puterbaugh.
We received an extra copy in the mail - it could be yours. All you need to do is post a Twitter message stating "Reading is Phundamental - I want the Phish book!" and tag it with #charlottemusic. First one to appear on the music page wins.
And, let's be honest — it's a big book and we can't afford to mail it. So, you'll have to stop by the N.C. Music Factory office and pick it up.
