In a land far, far away down Tryon there is a little sushi spot called Wang King.
They have half price sushi night, every night. I asked them what was in their Mango Chicken and the waitress just shrugged her shoulders like she had no idea what chicken even was. We do white meat for you, she responded. Yikes.
So I clicked my heals together and chanted: Theres no place like Nikko, theres no place like Nikko.
Cause theres really not in Charlotte at least. And despite the fact that the see-and-be-seen swank restaurants with equally beautiful people and plate presentation are a lot like pretty girls: a dime a dozen even in Charlotte.
But Nikkos stands out. It has character literally.
FOXs Kelly Bartick with Dave Chappelles little brother.
Paris Hiltons party girl DJ Caroline DAmore at Suite. Someone get this girl a sandwich.
A whole bunch more!
We have a winner!
I gave away 2 Executive Suite, V.I.P tickets to John Mayer & Paramore for tomorrow night at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
Well all they had to do is complete a Rubiks Cube blindfolded in 2.5 minutes. Just kidding all the winner did was e-mail me and told me which Anheuser-Busch beer I sampled when I went to MACS for Bike Night information for which you can find within my previously posted blog: Mac Daddys.
Stay tuned to qcvibes.com for your chance to win more free tickets and V.I.P access.
Since Brittney wont come out of retirement we had to make her a judge, said Brandii McCoy, the director and choreographer of the Bobcats dance team before the start of the first round of auditions for the Lady Cats.
And coming from her, I took that as the biggest compliment and perhaps the biggest honor to be invited to judge her auditions. I, like, idolize this woman in terms of dancing.
I only wish we did her style of choreography on the Panthers field. And I wish I had the honor of dancing for Brandii. But in all honesty, I probably couldnt even make her team.
Ive got the golden ticket... For you.

The EpiCentre has a country bar and an upscale lounge and now, it has a sports bar-rant. It's like a Fox and the Hound that serves seafood.
In the 10 minutes I was in there on Friday nights soft opening, I heard 50 Cent, George Straight and AC/DC, which was more random than a mix tape.
There wasnt necessarily a dance floor, but people were tossing their partners to and fro, doing some form of country swing dance. And surprisingly, I wasnt even involved.
She was a big star at Banana Joes Bar where she sang karaoke every night... And Jamie Leigh was a big star at Whisky River where she performed the other night.
96.9 The Kat had a battle of the bands where the victors garnered the opportunity (or once in a lifetime opportunity rather) to open up for Kenny Chesney on his Poet and Pirates tour when it sails into Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Aug. 21. Not to mention $25,000.
The owners of Sunset Club arent just remodeling their exclusive club on South Boulevard; theyve done an Extreme Club Makeover to Situations off Woodlawn, putting an upscale lounge in a not so upscale location.
This is like NYCs Meat Packing District, says co-owner Rick Gurr of the area.
Translated: theres a pearl of a place inside a slimy neighborhood.
Said place is K.I.S.S Lounge, tucked away in the corner of the seedy strip mall encompassing Gentlemens Club and Red Door thus putting the strip in strip mall.
Hollywood normally comes to the Carolinas because of the tax breaks they offer them on their budgets. But this time Hollywood (as in Extreme Home Makeover) came to Charlotte to give the King family a break that, and a major upgrade on their Charlotte home for which they run a neighborhood day care center out of.
I went to visit the set over the weekend and, as a Production Coordinator that makes commercials for a living, I was in awe of the elaborate television production. It was as though the entire neighborhood near Eastland Mall had been remodeled with production trucks and construction equipment lead by hundreds of volunteers, 60 traveling crew members, a gang of teamsters (thats film production lingo for transporters) and one locally hired production assistant with a broken wrist. But even though all the neighbors on the street have crews, fans and MoHos (more film lingo for you motor homes) parked out on their front lawn, they have to appreciate the appreciation.
Alert the media.... oh wait, that's me.
Anyway, Wednesday is Media Night at the Gin Mill where pretty much all the evening news crews from various television stations meet after the nightly news cast... along with some other media affiliates, such as myself and a photog from the Southern Sports Journal.
