After reading that headline, you might be asking: Who is DJ Kemit? Well, he’s a renowned Atlanta-based DJ (actually dubbed “Best DJ in Atlanta” by CL Atlanta) and producer (creating tracks for singers like Anthony David, among others). He’ll be in Charlotte on June 22, spinning a DJ set at Pop Life (starting at 8 p.m. at RE:Public, 314 N. College St. ... and it's free), and I'd definitely suggest that you check him out. But don't just take my word for it — check out the man in action via some video clips below:

Videos The New Familiars cover The Who

The New Familiars wrapped up its set in Asheville over the weekend with a cover of The Who's "Baba O'Riley." The band will be playing a free show at the Whitewater Center on July 4 along with Sol Driven Train and Anders Osborne.

There really aren't words to describe the video below. Amy Winehouse recently gave - or was scheduled to give - a concert in Belgrade and it went horribly wrong. The singer recently got out of rehab, and judging by her "performance," I'd say she needs to go back to rehab.
It's sad that a young singer with so much talent has become known for her trainwreck performances and lifestyle. Needless to say, the rest of her tour has been canceled.

Concert Announcement / Videos The Avett Brothers cover David Childers

The Avett Brothers have posted a video for their cover of the David Childers song "The Prettiest Thing." Check it out:
On a related note, you can see David Childers in a one-of-a-kind setting on June 15 at 8 p.m. when he takes the stage for Off the Record at the Evening Muse.
The show, hosted by myself, will feature Childers performances mixed with on-stage q&a sessions between songs to talk about his songwriting, lyrics and what it's like to be covered by the Avetts. Andy the Doorbum is also on the bill for that night.
