Thomas Pridgen, the former drummer for The Mars Volta is coming to the Saloon at the N.C. Music Factory on Wednesday night (May 25) with his new band, The Memorials. Lucky Five is opening.

Miley Cyrus decided to sing Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" at a recent concert and it sounds horrible. Not only that, but check out the beginning of the video when she starts kicking her legs around like Elaine in Seinfeld — I think she's trying to dance.

The Deal: After much anticipation from teenage girls and old-school fans from all over the city, Usher brought his OMG Tour to Charlotte. And while yes, Akon did perform (he looked me in my eyes, too!), this post is about Usher, and Usher alone.
The Good: I could go on and on about what a great concert this was, but I fear that would be the 16-year-old girl in me gushing. I'll let the video clips I smashed together below do the telling. Usher is a performer, first and foremost.
The Bad: Only that I wasn't the girl picked to be brought onto stage during Usher's performance of "Trading Places." I might have had a heart attack to be serenaded by one of the sexiest men in R&B, but hey ... a small price to pay. Jealousy and envy was in full effect.
The Verdict: I'm in love.

Beastie Boys released the video for the first song, "Make Some Noise," from its upcoming album, Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2, yesterday and it's got tons of guests...
Seth Rogen, Danny McBride and Elijah Wood appear as young versions of the trio, and there are cameos by Will Ferrell, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Ted Danson, Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Mary Steenburgen, Jason Schwartzman, Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny, Rainn Wilson, Maya Rudolph, Orlando Bloom and more.

"Weird Al" Yankovic has redone "Born This Way" for his own song "Perform This Way." Simply put, it's hilarious and quite genius. Sadly, but not surprisingly, Lady Gaga didn't approve of the cover. So, Yankovic released it anyway via YouTube.
Doesn't Lady Gaga have a sense of humor?
