Gay Bingo is one of the biggest events to take place each year, chockfull of outrageous costumes, song and dance numbers and of course, BINGO, with proceeds benefiting RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network). Shelita Hamm and the BVDs have rocked this event for 10 years. But sad news: this year's event will be the final one.
Appropriately enough, the crazy folks behind Gay Bingo are going out with a bang. The theme is "A Glee-Ful Celebration," and organizers are promising it to be one hell of a night. Oh, correction: This year's Gay Bingo will be held on two nights, Nov. 12 and 13, for double the fun.
Gay Bingo will be held at the Grady Cole Center, located at 310 North Kings Drive. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games start promptly at 7:30 PM.
Tickets are $30.
Here's a taste of what you can expect.
And if that's not enough, here's a clip from Carolina Traveler.

I'm just going to let you know that I am not a fan of Halloween. I hate being scared, I hate horror movies, and I certainly hate the idea of someone chasing me through a creepy haunted house. Ugh.
But I know many of our readers love this sorta thing, so I braved these scary images to tell you about two haunted houses you should check out.
13 Doors Haunted House, which is located at 1101 Hawthorne Lane, is partnering with A Child's Place. Bring a hygiene item for a child (like soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, shampoo, etc., and get $1 off your ticket price. Admission is $10 and this Friday there will be a special appearance from the scary, sexy people of Single Cell Productions.

Annnndddddd here's my own personal nightmare, as this haunted extravaganza is located at the NC Music Factory the same building in which my office is located. (This morning I noticed a scary figure staring down at me from the rooftop ... ick!!)
The NC Fright Factory (935 N. Graham St.) is dubbed the largest haunted house Uptown, and it definitely does take up the entire front parking lot. For only $10, you get to endure frightful sites in 3 scarezones ...
More importantly, they're offering a COUPON here.

Dixie's Tavern's Gravediggers Ball is one of the biggest Halloween parties that hits Charlotte every year. Sure, many people might diss the musical acts they bring in (last year, the Backstreet Boys were back!), but hey, it's a party, not a concert. The event is about the energy, the good time not if lyrics are well-written or meaningful at all.
For example, here's one of my favorite verses from Ke$ha's song "Blah Blah Blah" (oh yeah, in case you hadn't heard, she'll be performing at this year's Gravediggers' Ball, with opening act Kevin Rudolph):
"I don't care where you live at / Just turn around boy, let me hit that! / Don't be a little bitch with your chitchat / just show me where your d***'s at."
And the video, if you'd rather hear it for ya self.
A bit whoreish? Maybe. Is she singing about equal rights for men and woman? Not really, but I can kinda see it. But is it fun? Totally. And that's what a Halloween party should be about. Besides, you're probably going to get shitfaced anyway all you need is a good beat to dance to and you'll be good.
$20 - General Admission
$50 - Front Stage VIP (includes access to a guaranteed front of stage VIP viewing area)
$80 - VIP Club Pass (includes free beer, liquor, and food)
A strip club is hardly the place you expect to see familiar faces from your childhood. Then again, you never know what youre going to see at $2 Tuesdays at Club Onyx. $2 entry before midnight, $2 drink specials and even $2 dances for a portion of the night the fun is kind of just built in.
This night in particular, the crowd was livelier than usual with friends coming out to support Onyx staples, Kyphi and Bree, for their birthdays. Kyphi, whos not a dancer, does an annual show to celebrate her big day, and it was a madhouse in anticipation.
Killing time until the main event, I felt like I was at a Young Jeezy listening party. Literally all of his material got played. Better yet, it felt like I was in the backseat of a Chevy on Beatties Ford Road. Booming bass, indecipherable words ... yep, it felt like high school again well, high school with exotic dancers.
The surrounding cast only enhanced that feeling. It was weird catching up with people I havent seen since middle school Language Arts class or high school graduation and trying to sum up the past six to 10 years of my life in a sentence. What common ground is there with someone who has three kids and all I can really talk about is college and journalism? Entertaining nonetheless.
In addition to the ass-bouncing, pole-climbing and reunion chatter, the most notable conversation I overheard was between two dudes explaining why a salty guy in the club lost his girl in the past. She dont wanna fuck with a crackhead; she wanna fuck with a crack dealer, ya feel me? Classic.
Around 1:40 a.m., the main event was underway. The birthday girls headed to the stage in boxers robes as the other dancers and patrons pushed their way toward the stage. It took seconds for money to cascade down cartoonishly.
For Kyphi not to be a dancer, she could have fooled me. She had moves, and most importantly, tools to convince people otherwise. That was a real surprise. Bree took Look ma, no hands to a whole nother level, hanging from the ceiling with her knees as money continued to shower.
Headed out the door just in time to see someone get jacked up by security, I had a smile on my face and could only think, Eat your heart out BET: Uncut.
