Re: “What McCrory didn't mention in his praise of the new natural-gas pipeline

What if the states on these shale basins eventually find that fracking IS an environmental nightmare and put a stop to it ? We would then be left with a 550 mile pipeline to " nowhere ". I suppose we could always pack it with coal ash , plant flowers over it , and use it for a " nature trail " !!

Re: “Duke Energy contributed three times as much money to McCrory campaign than to five sitting governors combined

So Duke bought and paid for the governor , ignored its toxic liabilities while paying stockholders , and now wants residents to pay for the mess they created ? No surprise here ! Perhaps a criminal investigation by the state would set an example for our " corporate citizens ".

Re: “General Assembly, look under every cushion before abandoning teacher raises

According to the NEA , North Carolina education leads the nation in one important category . We have the highest decline in teacher pay during the 10 year period ending in 2013 - a whopping 15 % !!
