Best Of 2007

Best Local Male Actor
Mark Scarboro

Staff Pick

Scarboro probably gave the Metrolina region’s funniest performance of 2006 as the ultimate Left Coast slickster, Gary, in the Davidson Community Players’ production of I Hate Hamlet. Quite a difference between that bravura comedy and the fearsome rogues’ gallery Scarboro delivered four years earlier in Jungalbook at Children’s Theatre and The Laramie Project at Actor’s Theatre. There’s always an explosive volatility in reserve when Scarboro is onstage, yet he’s also capable of disarming softness.
