When Harris’ bid for a Saks Fifth Avenue at the corner of Park and Gleneagles fell through, she let the huge hole in the ground she created “return to nature,” thereby restoring part of the tree canopy the city is losing through over-development. Soon, of course, yet another development will fill in the space, but we nonetheless salute Harris for her temporary efforts to improve the environment.
