The numbers are in and the Charlotte Knights have the best fans in all of Minor League Baseball (MiLB).
Ranking #1 out of 161 teams, the Knights won the races for most overall fans (619,639) and earned best average attendance (8,980) for 2018.
Not only do the Knights have the most dedicated fan base, but they also have the #1 ballpark in all of the minor leagues per Baseball America. Situated in Uptown Charlotte, BB&T Ballpark opened April 10, 2010, totaling $48.7 million in construction costs. Since opening in 2010, the Knights have consistently maintained attendance at 90% stadium capacity.
White Sox top prospect and Charlotte Knights pitcher, Dylan Cease, said his first impression when he walked onto the field was that the ballpark is incredible and skyline backdrop is amazing.
It's not just the players who love the ballpark, the fans do too.
"The location is perfect. You can see the entire Charlotte skyline from your stadium seat. Knights games are my favorite."
"The facilities are always clean, the staff is friendly, the food options are great. I have been to dozens of ballparks, the atmosphere in Charlotte is the best I have experienced in minor league baseball."
"It is a family affair. We love bringing the kids for fireworks on Fridays."
Join the Knights this Thursday, April 4 at BB&T Ballpark when they play host to the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A Tampa Bay Rays, at 7:04 p.m., the first of a four-game opening series. Gates open at 6 p.m. for the home opener.
