THURSDAY, SEPT. 20 The class of '87 returns to Sabre County for a 20-year reunion. Remembering your 10-year reunion is hard enough, but 20 years later, phew! Are you desperate to reconnect with a long-lost era? Either way, this group of Sabres has a nice schedule of events to commemorate their graduation. It begins tonight with a Kick-Off Social at Galway Hooker Pub, 17044 Kenton Drive, Cornelius. Starts at 8 p.m. If you want to join in the festivities for the Class of '87 20-Year Reunion, please contact David Svenson at 704-888-3500. Times and venues for other scheduled events vary. www.southmeck87.com/www.myspace.com/southmeck87.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 23 smart USA presents a small solution for the "big" urban issues on Charlotte's streets. The fortwo is a new vehicle that, while tiny in design, is huge in "fun and functionality." So, naturally, the designers decided to take the show on the road. The Street Smart Road Show arrives in Charlotte, technically yesterday, but you can still a glimpse of the action today. A closed test-drive course will be set up for media and consumers. Interactive displays and safety demos will be on display in the mobile smart exhibit, and there will be an opportunity to become a smart "insider," which basically means you give up your e-mail address and receive a hit when the cars drop street-side. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Free. Ballantyne Village, 14825 John J. Delaney Drive. www.smartusa.com.
