Local Issue That Needs More Attention
Loss Of Green Space Due To The Downtown Baseball Deal

Staff Pick

Charlotte has less downtown green space than nearly any other American city of comparable size. If the downtown baseball stadium deal is put into effect, we’ll have even less. Marshall Park will be gone, and the planned park in Third Ward will be a fraction of its originally intended size. That is an issue we think should be openly discussed before the city rushes into another ill-conceived sports facility scheme.
