New study ranks Charlotte super low on the stress scale

According to a new study of America’s most and least stressed-out cities, Charlotte ranked pretty low on the stress scale, and the city was proven to be THE least stressed when it comes to political concerns. The study got personal with 2,700 people in 25 major cities across the U.S. and asked them about all the things that stress them out. Here’s what they learned:

Overall:

  • Indianapolis is the most stressed-out city
  • Human resources is the most stressful profession
  • Women feel more stress than men
  • Money and work are the things that survey respondents feel the most stress about
  • Too little sex is not good for your stress level — nor, apparently, is too much

Charlotte Takeaways:

  • 8th least stressed city overall
  • Least stressed when it comes to political concerns
  • 6th least stressed about work and career
  • 7th least stressed about family relationships

Some surveys try to determine how stressed-out different cities and their inhabitants are based on unemployment rates, commute times, or home prices. Those are valid markers, of course, but this study took a different approach by simply asking residents. Because when it comes to stress, perception can be more important than reality.
