Style-stalking Jenny D

Working at Buffalo Exchange is a good excuse for having stalk-worthy style. But it takes more than spending hours among cool threads to have fashion sense. Jenny D takes advantage of her resources, spotting the best finds hiding on the racks and shelves of her workplace. As for her style philosophy, Jenny says she "leans toward a classic look with a twist of crazy." She found this entire ensemble at Buffalo Exchange in Plaza Midwood.

Boots: "They're lightweight, and cowboy boots never go out of style."

Skirt: "I love strawberries, and it makes me think of a classic schoolteacher's skirt."

Shirt: "I like that it's red ... like strawberries."

Jewelry: "I like Southwestern-looking jewelry — turquoise stones and coral are my favorite combination."

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
