The latest news from the world of comics:

• Marvelman: Joe Quesada talks about Marvel Comics' newest acquisition. Hey, some folks are jaded but I'm excited.

• Gareb Shamus talks Wizard magazine: The once must-read mag is now in trouble and Shamus blabs about it. I used to read it a lot more — before the Web became the central source for comic book news.

• iGoogle Comic Themes: Some of comics biggest talents have teamed up to make Google prettier.

• Comics creators who are also performers: That crazy muthafucker Warren Ellis gives you the details.

Comic headlines: Jennifer Love-Hewitt as Wonder Woman (?), news on the new Batman movie (maybe) and more

Posted By on Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 1:07 PM

Here are some of the freshest headlines ripped from the world comics:

• An eight-page preview of Cry For Justice No. 2. It looks good. And the dialogue — which many fans complained about — reads better.

• What's happening with the Doctor Who movie? Read right here to find out.

• Gary Oldman apparently released some info about the next Batman film at Comic-Con — then recently back-peddled a bit.

• Jennifer Love-Hewitt is ... the new Wonder Woman?

• Manga goes mobile in a big way.

Comic headlines: Geoff Johns makes Flash film and more

Posted By on Mon, Jul 20, 2009 at 12:04 PM

: WOW. Cool shit!

Perhapanauts update: Writer Todd Dezago talks about why this book seems to go M.I.A. a few months at a time.

A Justice Society preview: A look at what the new creative team has in store for us readers. I was a big fan of Geoff Johns' run on the book (well, except for that "Kingdom" story arc), so we'll see how the new guys do.

What's up with Dwayne McDuffie?: He got fired from the JLA, and I didn't think that was cool. But here's what he's got planned next.

Comic headlines: Iron Man 2 photos, Tom Baker returns to Dr. Who

Posted By on Fri, Jul 17, 2009 at 9:37 AM

: Am I the only person reading this book? I admit the first story arc since the reboot started out pretty lame, but now it's picking up.

RIP Ellie Frazetta: The famed artist's life/business partner succumbs to cancer. Our condolences.

Iron Man 2 photos: In case you missed it, here's an early look at the new movie — featuring Scarlett Johansson in tight leather.

My favorite Dr. Who returns: Tom Baker reprises his role as the Doctor for a new project.

Peter David talks X-Factor: And it's a pretty good interview. Check it out.

Comic headlines: Lobo meets Anthrax, a new Spider-Man series and more

Posted By on Tue, Jul 14, 2009 at 11:05 AM

Once again, I've tracked down some hot news about the industry from all over the Web. Read up and be informed!

spirit-retailer-ff-300x123.webp

The Spirit of Retailing Awards: Who knew there was even such a thing?

Lobo: Highway to Hell: You probably heard that Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian is writing a Lobo comic. Well, here's even more about the new limited series.

Dr. Who comes to Comic-Con: Well the actor David Tennant, that is. And is he coming to make a big announcement?

A  new Spider-Man series?: Do we really need another one? At least this one features a Spider-Girl second feature.

Stephen Chow drops out of Green Hornet: Man I love the Green Hornet, but what seems to be the problem with making this damn movie?

Blackest Night — Spectrum Analysis: Writer Vaneta Rogers examines the psychology behind the emotional spectrum of DC's Lanterns. Yeah ... it gets no geekier.

Comic headlines: Infantino strikes back, Green Lantern gets Ryan Reynolds and more

Posted By on Mon, Jul 13, 2009 at 11:55 AM

7472_400x600-199x300.webp

: It seems that the legendary artist was not too happy about a recent interview.

Green Lantern film gets a star: And it's ... Ryan Reynolds?

Keith Giffen talks Magog: I'm not exactly excited about this upcoming ongoing series from DC, but you've gotta respect the powers that be at the company for having the balls to try out a new character.

Comic convention tips: Here's a little advice before you head out to San Diego or wherever.

Help out John Ostrander: The prolific writer is in need of an operation on his eyes — here's how you can help him get healthy.

Comic headlines: Owly gets animated, a list of DC's dead and more

Posted By on Fri, Jul 10, 2009 at 9:40 AM

Owly debuts at San Diego: Top Shelf's silent comic gets animated in time for Comic-Con International.

owly4-210x300.webp

Speaking of Comic-Con ...: There seems to be another interesting convention happening in conjunction with San Diego's big comic convention.

Critic sues over Wolverine: Remember that critic who got fired because he reviewed a bootleg copy of the Wolverine movie? Well, looks like he's trying to get some payback.

Permanent Damage: This ain't really news, but I just love Steven Grant's long-running comic book column over on ComicBookResources.com. You should read it every week.

Who's dead at DC?: So, Blackest Night — the limited series by writer Geoff Johns that promises to raise a ton of characters from the dead — is about to take over the DC Universe. But before you read that, check out this list of deceased heroes you may or may not be seeing once the comic hits.

Comic headlines: Marvel's racist-ass anniversary, Evan Dorkin animal comics and more

Posted By on Tue, Jul 7, 2009 at 10:20 AM

gijoes1pt1-174x300.webp

: Nostalgia be damned, this was an awful little cartoon. But, awful in a "guilty pleasure" kind of way.

Winick's off, Daniel's on Batman: Damn that was quick. I wonder if the move is permanent. I really didn't dig Daniel's Battle of the Cowl, but that may not be totally his fault.

Dorkin plugs Beasts of Burden: Animal comics are cool.

Warren Ellis on Stan Lee: A history lesson from my favorite crazy British comic writer.

Marvel's racist-ass anniversary: Well, not exactly. But read up anyway.
