I love the Mint Museum of Art. They really know how to appeal to the fashion and shoe addicts in Charlotte.

Currently, one of the ongoing exhibits is the The Art of Affluence: Haute Couture and Luxury Fashions 1947-2007. Have you seen this exhibit? The clothes and jewelry are ... wow. Luxurious, glamorous and gorgeous are the three words that come to mind. Fashion designers featured include Chanel, De La Renta, Dior, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Valentino, and Versace.

And Saturday, they're widening their fashionista draw with the opening of The Heights of Fashion: Platform Shoes Then and Now. This exhibit showcases platform shoes — yes, platform shoes! — from the 1930s through the present. How could you not want to check this out?

If you really can't wait, there's a sneak preview of the exhibit going down this Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Click here for more info and to RSVP.
