Weddings and the City, a wedding planning company in Charlotte, is proud to present New York Bride & Groom, located at 4618 South Blvd. This full bridal salon is open 7 days a week with an open door policy and over 30 dressing rooms inside. Tonight is their grand opening celebration, and if you're getting married soon (or just love weddings) the bridal fashion show is something you don't want to miss.

Events Upcoming: 'Feminine Not Fragile' trunk show

On Friday, Feb. 5, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., head out to the showroom of Scott Jaguar on Tyvola Road to check out the spring 2010 collection of local designer Blaine Degannes' high fashion clothing line Rain Anthology. Rain Anthology's philosophy is to "provide women with fashion that makes them feel elegant and edgy without complication, while being conservative but sexy."
Portion of clothing sales will benefit the non-profit organization PURPLE PASSION 4 Alzheimer's.

Looking for organic beauty care products that are cruelty-free and natural? Now you can find Beautorium, a natural and organic beauty product emporium, here locally at The Boulevard. Before setting up shop at the NoDa boutique, you could only find these products online at Beautorium.com, so it's kind of a big deal that one of our locally owned shops was able to snag this addition. The chicks at The Boulevard are pretty excited, so head over and see what all the fuss is about.

News / Jewelry Talk Pop-up shop sticks around for Valentine's Day shopping

Dear men,
I know it's kind of early to be thinking about this, but it certainly can't hurt to mention it: Valentine's Day is about four weeks away. Do you know what you're getting your woman?
Yes, I know — you're probably going to wait until the last minute to pick up a bouquet of flowers or a box of chocolates. But let me tell you, a box of chocolates is a bad idea, especially if she made a new year's resolution to lose some pounds. And the flowers will die.
Be a little more unique than that, OK? And here's my suggestion: Head over to the Jewelry Artists of Charlotte pop-up shop in Ballantyne Village, which features original creations by more than 20 local jewelry and accessories artists, such as the one pictured below.
You're really lucky that the pop-up shop is still around, you know? Originally, the shop, presented by I.C. London, was going to close after the holidays, but, because of its success, is going to stick around until Feb. 27 (hours being Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.).
So when Valentine's Day comes around, your gift better be pretty awesome. After all, I gave you more than enough of notice to be thinking about it.
