For you Dems who like to kick back a few, check out this event Saturday — the Living Liberally National Conference — hosted by local social group Drinking Liberally.

Hot on the heels of last week's remarkably intimate and moving Democratic National Convention viewing party and tomorrow's regularly scheduled gathering, you've probably heard that our local chapter is hosting the annual Living Liberally National Conference, which convenes here in the Queen City this weekend. There will be a series of seminars and "What's Next for D.L."-type meetings for D.L. hosts who decided that this year Charlotte would make a great host city. What that means for you is this.As Drinking Liberally hosts from around the country descend on the Queen City, this Saturday night, at Madison's, in Uptown Charlotte, we'll be showing them the best time ever as we throw our biggest, grooviest gathering of the year.
If you can only make one D.L. event between now and Election Day, this is definitely the one you want to attend.
Things get going at 7:30 sharp, and for the next few hours we'll have the place completely to ourselves. This is your unique opportunity to chat with Drinking Liberally movers and shaker from far a field, folks who care as much about politics, public policy, and "Promoting Democracy one pint at a time" as you do.
This is your exclusive chance! Meet the folks who founded the very first Drinking Liberally chapter, in New York City. Rub elbows with D.L.ers who've just returned from the Democratic National Convention, in Denver. Share ideas with members of D.L. chapters from everywhere from Massachusetts to Tennessee, Salt Lake City to Hanover, New Hampshire. Share opinions, share stories, share an ice-cold beer or cocktail.
You'll be so happy you did!
There will be deals on drinks, funky music, a special Drinking Liberally toast, and everyone will be looking a little more dapper than usual. All of this for a measly five bucks! You'll have a blast!
