Changes at Eye?

Posted By on Tue, Sep 16, 2008 at 1:10 PM

Word on the street is that changes are afoot at Eye, The Charlotte Observer's free weekly publication often found at news racks next to Creative Loafing. Publisher Ann Caulkins said the Eye isn't closing, but it's trying new things — things which she wasn't at liberty to discuss.

After talking with Caulkins, I heard Eye may be folded into an Observer-owned glossy. Everyone who's remotely paying attention knows the financial struggles of the newspaper industry. Eye doesn't appear to be blessed with a surfeit of advertising.
