Wanda Sykes slays a drugged dragon

It's the Monday after Saturday's White House Correspondents Dinner, and the media, particularly the Conservative World part of it, is going ballistic. It's great. The right's wingnut pundits are vying for the title of Most Likely To Have a Stroke Today, all because of comedian Wanda Sykes' jokes about Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh. If you haven't seen Sykes' performance, we won't ruin it by telling you the Limbaugh jokes, but we will tell you that she chided Palin, who was supposed to attend the dinner but backed out, by noting that the Alaska governor had "pulled out at the last minute," adding that, "Somebody should tell her that's not really how you practice abstinence." Afterward, Sykes compared Limbaugh's hatred of Obama to Osama bin Laden's hatred of America, and, er, commented on it. Imagine the audacity of comedian Wanda Sykes being hired to tell jokes at the dinner and coming onstage and telling actual jokes! Now those jokes are an issue — which is odd, considering that the event was hosted by the Washington press, which laughed heartily at the jokes when Sykes  told them. Yep, it was vindictive humor, and yes, it was funny as hell, and yes, Limbaugh and his supporters deserve every joke, jibe, figurative slap and even possibly waterboarding the world can hand them, considering the mess they made of things during the last eight years, a period during which they somehow considered themselves the cocky, natural born rulers of the world. Now they can't even take a joke. Like I said, it's great. Here's Syke's performance.
