The fifth annual Con A de Arte -- Spanish for "A is for Art" -- themed "Tell Me Your Story" is a celebration of artistic achievements by folks in the Latino community held at the Main Library. At the one-day event, you can browse the El Mercado de las Artes -- The Artist Market, in English -- featuring dancing and storytelling from Alejandro Galvez Cruz, spoken word and music from Ana Davis, visual arts from Edwin Gil and Valerie Hastie, more dancing from Gladys Gomez and the Carolina Dance Company, filmmaking and oral history information from Gina Esquivel and digital weaving information by Annabel Manning. This might not be a wild fiesta, but it sure is a good way to engage yourself in art and mingle with Latino artists. Free. 6 p.m. Main Library, 310 N. Tryon St. 704-416-0557. www.plcmc.org.
