Our Lady of 121st Street

Carolina Actors Studio Theatre

It's "Hail Mary's" and hoopla, as neighborhood folks (each with their own issues) gather in a funeral home, only to find the body of the recently deceased and beloved Sister Rose, whom they have come to honor, is missing. Carolina Actors Studio Theatre presents Our Lady of 121st Street, a dark comedy by playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis.

Art You can expect to leave with a fresh feeling after viewing Elder Gallery's Martha Armstrong, Solo Exhibition, which opens tonight. Armstrong takes every day subject matter and juices it up with chunky, colorfully layered brush strokes. more...

My First Time

Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte

For a banging good time, you can’t go wrong in checking out Theatre 650's latest production of My First Time at Actor's Theatre of Charlotte. The play, written by Ken Davenport and directed by Chip Decker, is a comedy about folks' first sexual experiences. One thing's for sure: This could get very interesting.

Theater Love is in the air with Davidson Community Players' production, Almost, Maine at Duke Energy Theatre. The play, which takes place in the mystical (and cold!) town of Almost, revolves around the love affairs of nine different couples -- falling in and falling out of love. more...
