Boomer with Attitude / News Progress made on city's fed-funded green projects

You would never know it by reading the city’s daily newspaper, or watching our blood-and-fluff-centric TV news stations, but last night, City Council got a detailed breakdown from Rob Phocas, Charlotte’s energy and sustainability manager, on how the city is progressing on 17 citywide green projects. Those projects, funded by the federal Dept. of Energy through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program, will include a solar rooftop on Discovery Place; the green-retrofitting of eight large buildings, plus Parktowne Apartments and 40 Habitat for Humanity homes; the purchase of five electric vehicles and placement of 10 re-charging stations for electric vehicles; and more.
