Bacon-strip message left at S.C. Islamic center

Seems that anti-mosque fever still hasn’t died down among the FoxNews addicts and ethnocentric jerks in our midst. Case in point, in Florence, S.C., on Sunday — a traditional time for Christians to take a break from the daily grind and thank God for their blessings — some enlightened folks felt inspired to leave a two-word message, spelled out in bacon strips, on the walkway of the Florence Islamic Center. Here’s the good part: The anti-Muslim pig patrol members were so inept, no one can figure out what the second word of their message was. The first word spelled in bacon was “PIG.” The second was either “CHOPS” or “CHUMP,” or maybe it was something else. Neither one makes sense as an ethnic or religious insult — but that’s to be expected from anyone who thinks it’s cool to harass people just because their religion doesn’t allow them to handle snakes. Earlier this year, vandals broke windows in the Florence Islamic center after it was announced that local Muslims were raising money to build a proper mosque. The bacon strip message is just the latest in a line of anti-Muslim actions around the country.

As a native South Carolinian, I can tell you that the people who left the message were seriously pissed off — in Florence, you just don’t waste that much bacon without being enraged about something. At least they left the liver mush out of the argument, so no one’s breakfast was too badly affected. And, trying to look on the bright side, the fact that the vandals (or whatever you call people who leave bacon-strip messages) spelled one of the two words correctly shows that literacy efforts in the area must be working.

Possible Evidence: This bacon-and-egg belt was found near the scene of the crime
