The 52 members of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus, who rant and rave against earmark spending, among other things, requested 764 earmarks with a total cost of more than $1 billion during Fiscal Year 2010. Thats according to a Hotline On Call review of information compiled by Citizens Against Government Waste. Three Carolina legislators were named in the report. Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC) was the only one of the three to stay true to a no-earmarks policy. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC), on the other hand, requested 19 earmarks with a total cost of nearly $19 million; and Rep. Joe You lie! Wilson (R-SC) requested 15 earmarks with a total cost of over $23 million. After this new report, the You lie! tag may stick to Wilson for reasons other than his yelling at the President.
