Good news: The Charlotte Observer is reporting that work will begin on the I-485 widening project next summer ... which wouldn't be necessary had planners been more forward thinking, but I digress. Woo hoo!

Uh, wait. I'd like to be excited for all of you south-enders, but you must know the construction work is going to make things worse before they become better.

So, stretch your middle fingers, gather your books on CD and plan on wasting hours — nay, days — of your life burning precious fossil fuels and your valuable time. Wee.
