The Lake Norman Independent Film Competition is currently accepting entries from area filmmakers. The competition is only open to those who live within 100 miles of Mooresville (and 80% of the movie must be shot within that radius). Each piece must be 10-13 minutes in length (including credits), and it must include a postcard of Lake Norman which is used in a meaningful way during the course of the film.

The deadline to enter is Dec. 15. Winners will be announced Jan. 27, 2012. The Grand Prize winner will receive a minimum of $2,500 in cash, merchandise and services from the sponsors; second and third place prizes will also be awarded.
