Arts Sleeping Beauty and the twisting of toes

Dating is far from being even close to a fairy tale (unless that is, you consider the grimmer classics). First of all, most of us aren't royalty. We don't have a chance at meeting someone as easily as in our beds without some sort of effort. Take the princess known as Sleeping Beauty: She isn't even conscious when a handsome prince gives her a smooch of revival and an all around happily-ever-after. Not that we'd want to sacrifice years of our life sleeping when we could just settle for mere commoners, right? N.C. Dance Theatre presents its version of the romantic Sleeping Beauty at Knight Theater through March 18. The dreamy ballet meshes choreography by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux with Tchaikovsky scores. $25-$79.
