If you recognize marriage equality advocate Zach Wahls, it's probably because you've seem the video recording of his eloquent testimony against a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex unions in Iowa on YouTube. Since its viral outbreak - which received more than 16 million views and was dubbed the No. 1 YouTube "Political Video" in 2011 - Wahls has penned a book titled My Two Moms: Lessons of Love, Strength, and What Makes a Family due out on April 26 (how's that for a plug?).

In partnership with Campus Pride and Time Out Youth, he'll speak during the third annual Believe in Youth Awareness Event. His visit to the Q.C. comes just a month before N.C. votes on Amendment One, a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. Free, donations encouraged. April 7, 5 p.m. Knight Theater, 430 S. Tryon St.
