Get Outta Town: The Rocky Horror Show

Posted By on Wed, Sep 5, 2012 at 11:38 AM

For folks fed-up with the DNC and its current takeover of the Q.C., comes a series of special events worthy of crossing county, city, and state lines for.

A doable three-hour shuffle from Charlotte to Raleigh thrusts you straight into a sinister “Time Warp” over at Raleigh Little Theatre. In The Rocky Horror Show, the seductive Transylvanian transvestite known as Frank-N-Furter tantalizes others (the clueless — and soon-to-be corrupted — goody two-shoes couple, Brad and Janet) who’ve strayed off their normal path and are stripping down to their undies for a spontaneous bout of pleasure in the kooky castle.

Richard O’Brien’s cult classic musical, complete with a satisfying wardrobe of fishnets, heels, garters and rogue, may not be the most original of productions, but it’s a fun, sexy pick that’s full of sing-a-long energy and silly sexual innuendos. For mature audiences (duhhhh!).

$18-$22. Sept. 6-8, 8 p.m.; Sept. 9, 3 p.m. Raleigh Little Theatre, 301 Pogue St., Raleigh. 919-821-3111. www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
