The Vagina Monologues return to Charlotte

Posted By on Fri, Apr 12, 2013 at 1:34 PM

Read my lips, say the 13 local artists who will present Eve Ensler's call to female self-realization and empowerment, The Vagina Monologues. Three Bone Theatre's maiden production, piloted by their managing artistic director Robin Tynes, will feature performances by Carmen Bartlett, Frances Bendert, Rachael Houdek, and Becky Schultz in the full range of V-Day favorites.

So if you haven't been introduced to "My Angry Vagina" or "The Little Coochie Snorcher That Could" or - best of all - Ensler's bravura catalogue of climactic coital female cries and moans, head on over to Wine Up where these wonders will be proclaimed. A Women's Empowerment Panel precedes the opening night performance on April 12, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Safe Alliance Shelter. Dinner service is available for all performances. For more information, call 704-430-4821 or visit www.threebonetheatre.com. $12-$15. April 12-13, 7 p.m.; April 19-20, 7 p.m. Wine Up, 3306 N. Davidson St. 704-372-2633. www.wine-up.com.
