Comic Afterthoughts The Pull List (10/16/13): X-Men Legacy builds its own

It's probably no surprise that this week's Title You Can't Miss is an X-book. Mutants have had no shortage of coverage recently, even in this column. But this humble honor doesn't go to a book within the Battle of the Atom storyline: This week, we're talking about X-Men Legacy.
The arc of Legion (a.k.a. David Haller, a.k.a. Charles Xavier's son, a.k.a. The Guy with the Kid of Kid 'n Play Haircut) has progressed from an interesting companion for the mainstream X-books to being an integral part of the big picture. After all, this book is called X-Men Legacy. That's the defining characteristic of the Marvel mutants. Questions like "What does this mean for the generations to come?" and "How can we make the world better for our children?" come up more in these books than any other. And as Legion faces Cyclops, the man who killed his father, he's continuing his mission to protect that legacy.
X-Men Legacy #18 is touted as the "final showdown" between two of Xavier's sons - one by blood and the other by, well, legacy. Scribe Simon Spurrier, importing other recent rivalries into this issue, has set the stage for an incredible climax. Go back a few issues if you haven't been keeping up, but this seems to be the issue you can't miss.
I'd also like to note how solid the covers have been for this series, each containing its own style and ability to stand alone as an impressive work of pop art. I've included a few in this post.
