Today marks the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.

A new study from the Charlotte Office of Economic Development says the movie studio project at Eastland Mall and the amenities to come with it could cost just under $300 million, with local citizens responsible for $37 million.

The Senate - well, the majority of Democrats, anyway - voted to change filibuster rules, invoking a "nuclear option." Now, a simple majority, not 60 votes, will be required to approve presidential nominees.

Scientists from Chicago and Raleigh have discovered a new species of dinosaur.
