First notes (5/12/14): Bearded drag queen wins Song Contest, more

Editor's Note: First Notes is a weekly update of recent happenings in the world of music.

* A bearded drag queen, Austria's Conchita Wurst, won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song, "Rise Like a Phoenix."

* Eminem apologized to his mother, Debbie Mathers, for years of scathing lyrics in his past songs in his new video for the song "Headlights." Happy Mother's Day!

* Robert Plant hopes you're not holding your breath for a Led Zeppelin tour, but you may be excited to know he's in talks with Alison Krauss about a follow-up to their hit album, Raising Sand.

* Insane Clown Posse used to put out humorous promo videos for their Gathering of the Juggalos festival, which were often parodied on Saturday Night Live. This year's video has been released and it's too long and boring to watch in its entirety - unless you're actually a Juggalo, perhaps.

* The Black Keys will perform at Time Warner Cable Arena on Dec. 12, with St. Vincent. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m.

* Bob Weir & Ratdog along with the Chris Robinson Brotherhood will perform at the Uptown Amphitheatre on Aug. 27. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m.
