Though he agrees Amendment One is unconstitutional, a federal judge ruled Tuesday that Republicans in the General Assembly who have long-faught the amendment have a right to intervene. In doing so, House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger are allowed to appeal to the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
And so it continues. A second, unidentified health care worker in Dallas who cared for the first Ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S. has tested positive for the disease. This comes three days after a health care worker in the same hospital tested positive. The CDC says a breach in protocol led to the contamination.
The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked a Texas law that would have shuttered abortion clinics around the state. The law would have required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at hospitals and that clinics meet the standards of “ambulatory surgical centers.” Thirteen will resume operation.
A man is being treated for Google Glass addiction. "San Diego doctors say the 31-year-old man 'exhibited significant frustration and irritability related to not being able to use his Google Glass.' He has a history of substance abuse, depressive disorder, anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder, they say."
