First Drip (3/2/15): CIAA officials distancing themselves from violence, more

Posted By on Mon, Mar 2, 2015 at 8:00 AM

CIAA officials are trying to put as much distance as possible between the tournament and the violence that happened Saturday night at two unrelated events. Early that evening, two people were shot at Label; later, two people were stabbed at Oasis Tent. A spokesman for the conference told the Observer, "It’s unfortunate, but it’s not a thing we have control over.”

More development may be coming to NoDa. Crescent Communities has filed a rezoning petition for nearly 7 acres between 36th Street and the Yards at NoDa apartment complex to bring in a mixed used project. Sitting right smack dab in the middle of that land is The Chop Shop.

A 22-year-old Baltimore Ravens player clearly thought he was above the law this weekend. Victor Hampton was arrested for speeding and reckless driving (he was going 100 mph on I-77), DWI and open container.

How about that Carolina pride, folks? South Carolina's own Myrtle Beach ranked No. 3 on Coed.com's list of trashiest spring break destinations.
