Cheap list: Male Fashion Show, Nuv Yug India Fest, St. Patrick's Day Fest, more

Going out in Charlotte doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, to prove that statement, we've compiled a list of cheap - $10 or less - things to do in the Q.C. this weekend. These events may vary, but they're all entertaining and they won't break your bank (piggy banks excluded).

"Let Me Cater To You" Male Fashion Event at Silverfly: The store is debuting its spring collection for men in a special fashion show. In addition, AlphaMale Nail Care will be giving manicures, and there will be food, drink and raffles. Free admission. March 13, 8 p.m. Silverfly, 1111 Metropolitan Ave.

Gold Diggers Ball at BAR Charlotte: A Michael Kors handbag is being given away at this St. Patrick’s Day-themed ball. The lucky lady with the most golden coins goes home with the new purse. Free admission before 11 p.m. with RSVP. March 13, 9 p.m. BAR Charlotte, 300 N. College St. 704-342-2557. www.barcharlotte.com.

Shred for D’Andre at Grayson Skate Park: Last month, a 14-year-old boy was shot while coasting home on his skateboard. That 14-year-old’s name is D’Andre Martin, and this event will help raise money for his medical bills. In addition to showing off your skateboard skills, bid on cool stuff, including signed skateboards and other items from Tony Hawk, Mark Gonzales and others in a silent auction. This is what community is all about. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/events/772151089534633. (Kimberly Lawson)

Nuv Yug India Fest at The Park Expo & Conference Center: This two-day festival celebrates India with food, music, dancing and vendors. $8 for 12 and up. The Park Expo & Conference Center, 2500 E. Independence Blvd. indiafestusa.net/index.php.

St. Patrick Festival and Charlotte Goes Green Festival: This annual Uptown parade and festival celebrates St. Patrick's Day with traditional Irish music, dancing and activities throughout the day. Plenty of beer options, too. Cheers! Free admission. March 14, 10 a.m. www.charlottestpatsday.com.

The Daley Grimes at Crownstation Coffeehouse & Pub: Forget the guitars because this Boston-based acoustic duo is about more than music. In fact, it’s their ridiculous songwriting that’s worth listening to — that is, as long as you’re not too sensitive. The guys have been known to joke about the danger of possible zombies, Santa Claus getting a boner and other random topics. There’s also performances by comedians Nick Alexander, Matt Barrentine and Jeffrey LaPoint. $5. March 14, 8 p.m. 980-224-8020. www.crownstationpub.com.
