Have you ever been on MTV or performed in a concert? Still single? That's it I'm now guessing those are the only qualifications to get a dating "reality" show on VH1 or MTV.
Flavor Flav, Brett Michaels, Ray J and whoever else might make an interesting TV character is given a show on VH1 to help them find true love. And how well does it work? It doesn't. Flavor Flav did, what, three seasons? Michaels is on his third and Ray J's just gettin' warmed up.
Which reminds me, who the hell is Ray J, anyway? He's Brandy's brother and he was in a sex tape with Kim Kardashian. Does that make him famous? No, it puts him in a category with Paris Hilton, Kardashian and Nicole Richie who are famous for nothing. Sure Ray J put an album out, but so did Hilton - what's your point?
Anyway, the latest singer to try and get a show is Pepa of Salt N Pepa.
Seriously - enough is enough. What happened to the days when VH1 and MTV actually playing music videos? I weep for the future.
Oh, and if you're a couple you shouldn't have a show either. The divorce rate on those is staggering Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, the list goes on...
Everyone loves a good list. Amazon. com has posted a list of the top 100 indie albums of all time.
Their criteria:
One album per artist. No EPs or singles, this list is about albums.
No greatest hits collections or compilations of previously released tracks.
Nominations must have been originally released on an independent label. Albums released on indies which were later acquired and/or re-released by majors are allowed (like Sonic Youths Daydream Nation, originally released by a pre-1989 major label merger Enigma Records).
Here it is:
1. Bee Thousand by Guided by Voices
2. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel
3. Spiderland by Slint
4. Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
5. Imperial f.f.r.r. (Deluxe Edition) by Unrest
6. Slanted & Enchanted by Pavement
7. If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian
8. Surfer Rosa by Pixies
9. Either/Or by Elliott Smith
10. Bakesale by Sebadoh
The Whigs hit town tonight to play the Visulite, and to get you primed for the show, we found some video of the band performing on David Letterman. Check it out:
According to the club's Web site, the PPR, Let Me Run and 2013 Wolves show for tonight at the Milestone has been cancelled.
The "Uptown Amphitheatre at the NC Music Factory" will open on June 13 with a concert by The Fray, which had originally been scheduled for Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
Opening acts are Jack's Mannequin and Richard Swift. Tickets go on sale on April 3 at 10 a.m. Any tickets already purchased for the Verizon show will be valid for the Uptown Amphitheatre show.
The Uptown Amphitheatre is situated in an outdoor setting with views of the Charlotte skyline, elevated lawn seating, traditional outdoor seating, premium box seats with food and beverage service and an indoor VIP area with private restrooms, private bar and views of the stage. The concession area has a bourbon street feel with multiple permanent restrooms with pedestal sinks, full length mirrors and private stalls.
Live Nation plans to book 25 shows a year at the 5,000-seat venue.
The 2,000-capacity indoor venue, The Fillmore Charlotte, is also scheduled to open in June. No shows have been scheduled, but Live Nation says they will host roughly 80 per year there.
Both venues will be operated and booked by The Ark Group.
Nine Inch Nails put up a post today (April Fool's Day) saying that the band's new album was available for download.

It asks for your email, and when you type one in, you get an "April Fool's" error message.
Very clever, Trent. Now - get on to some serious collaborations with Maynard and Al, please!
Bjork's Web site has a post stating she has accepted the job as the new lead singer of Led Zepplin.
Very clever April Fool's Day joke, no?
Word is out today that Bad Company has reunited.
Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke will hit the road this summer, including a stop at Charlotte's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on June 20.
And they're bringing along the Doobie Brothers with them.
