Mariah Carey had a little too much to drink last night before accepting an award...

Phish frontman Trey Anastasio and his band, Trey Anastasio Band (not Phish), are hitting the road this year, with a stop planned at The Fillmore in Charlotte on Feb. 26.
The band is made up of Russ Lawton (drums), Tony Markellis (bass) and Ray Paczkowski (keyboards) who will be joined by Russell Remington (tenor saxophone and flute) and Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet and vocals). New to the group is Natalie Cressman on trombone and vocals, who replaces her father, Jeff Cressman.
Tickets go on sale to the general public next week.
Sweet Lord... Please stop using Auto-tune in every fucking song!!!!!! Every song is starting to sound the same because some moron (T-Pain) made some dough with it and now every moronic music executive and producer thinks it sounds good. You know what? It doesn't. It sounds like shit on a stick. It makes me want to jab sharp objects into my ears... I want to go too deep with Q-tip. For the love of all mammals, stop it, stop it, stop it.
Hey Flavor Flav... it used to be that 911 is a joke. You know what else is a joke? Your new song.

I get the feeling that these things are going to be popping out of the wordwork on a regular basis... so, here's the latest in what I'm sure will become a long line of new Michael Jackson songs.
This one's called "Another Day," and is rumored to be a duet with Lenny Kravitz, though Kravitz doesn't appear in this portion of the song.

Seriously - no one gave a shit about new MJ songs when he was alive, so why are they caring now?
Oh, 2010! It feels good to be in a new decade and more than anything else I'm happy to be in the midst of this music industry transition.
Artists embracing new media outlets to distribute music is always a good thing for fans and this year you'll see that the FreEP (free EP) will become the "it" thing to do.
Sure, it's essentially a mixtape, but what an EP allows an artist to do is put out a taste of free music that isn't just a freestyle over the hottest instrumental but actually new and original music content.
Since the ball dropped on 2010, a few artists have already kicked out FreEP's.
Mickey Factz, among others, dropped a FreEP, thedarkphoenix: ALPHA, to lead up to his long awaited album. Mixtape fans don't fret, those track-heavy, hour-long, hit-or-miss musical journey's you know and love aren't going anywhere. Just don't be surprised if you start to see five- to eight-song EPs from your favorite artist, instead of the 20+ track monster with remixes of every recognizable beat from the radio.
In the end what would you rather have? The FreEP is the future (well now) and less is more.
"Reunited, and it feels so good..."
Baby New Year was given a nice present this morning in the form of a confirmation from Chris Cornell that Soundgarden has reunited.
Via his Twitter feed this morning, Cornell posted:
The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again! www.soundgardenworld.com
Everyone but Cornell had reunited earlier in 2009. The biggest hurdle towards the reunion, in most accounts, is the fact drummer Matt Cameron is now with Pearl Jam. No word yet on how the reunion will affect the Jam.
A co-headlining tour, if Cameron has the stamina, would sure be nice though!
