Concert Announcement / Jeff Hahne / News A quick guide for Bonnaroo 2010

With more than 100 bands performing at Bonnaroo between June 10 and 13, it's not easy to decide who to see... Here's a quick look at each day and some bands you might want to check out:
THURSDAY
Typically the weaker of the three days of the festival — in past years, however, Vampire Weekend, Janelle Monae, Zac Brown Band and others have played. This year, it's once again a packed night of up-and-coming artists that are worth giving a listen to. Diane Birch had a hit on the radio, and I'm curious to hear more — she's at That Tent at 5:30 p.m. S.C.'s Needtobreathe will be in the far corner at The Other Tent at 8:45 p.m. Indie buzz bands The Postelles, Blitzen Trapper and The xx are also on tap for the night, as are Wale and Mayer Hawthorne. Veteran Bonnaroo comedian Margaret Cho will also have a few shows in the comedy tent.
FRIDAY
The first full day of the festival is going to kick off strongly — Trombone Shorty is playing at noon, with Conan O'Brien in the comedy tent at 1 p.m. Carolina Chocolate Drops and Gaslight Anthem make for a tough choice at 1:45 p.m. What happened to Panic at the Disco? Two of them are now in a band called the Young Veins. Steve Martin has a brief set on the Solar Stage at 2:15 p.m. The Gossip should put on a great show in This Tent at 3:15 p.m. on the way to a packed night evening with Nas & Damian Marley, She & Him, The National, Tenacious D and Tori Amos. Michael Franti will get the crowd fired up on Which Stage while Les Claypool is in The Other Tent and Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers are in That Tent. Samantha Crain will be heating up Cafe Where? at 8 p.m. The night's headliner is Kings of Leon. If that wasn't enough, you have a tough midnight choice with The Flaming Lips — who are scheduled to play the entire Dark Side of the Moon album — on Which Stage while The Black Keys are in That Tent and Daryl Hall and Chromeo are in The Other Tent. The night winds down with sets by Crystal Method, Galactic, LCD Soundsystem and B.O.B.
SATURDAY
Bomba Estereo kicks off a long day of Latin music in The Other Tent at noon. Brandi Carlile (That Tent) and Norah Jones (Which Stage) will get the day off to a soothing start. Charlotte's Paper Tongues are in the Troo Music Lounge at 4 p.m. The Avett Brothers hit Which Stage at 4:45 p.m. while Mumford & Sons are in That Tent at 5 p.m. The Dead Weather are on the What Stage at 6 p.m. and then you have a tough choice... Weezer, Jeff Beck and Ozomatli are all set to start at 7 p.m. Rumor has it that Imelda May (she performed with Beck at the Grammys) will also join him here. Hard not to go with the legendary guitarist. Stevie Wonder and Jay-Z headline the main stage. There's variety at night — Thievery Corporation and Clutch perform around midnight while Gwar, The Disco Biscuits and a hotly-hyped Deadmau5 will close the night out.
SUNDAY
If you've made it this long, you'll be glad you did. It's a toss up for the noon slot with Tinariwen on Which Stage and Ingrid Michaelson in The Other Tent. Calexico and John Butler Trio get the early afternoon started. They'll be followed by Regina Spektor, and John Fogerty. Against Me!, Jamey Johnson and Blues Traveler also have afternoon sets depending on your mood. The 4:30 spot pits Kris Kristofferson against They Might Be Giants and the choice at 5 p.m. is between Ween and Dropkick Murphys. How do you like your country? 6:30 p.m. is the time for Zac Brown Band and Miranda Lambert. Phoenix will wrap up Which Stage before Dave Matthews Band closes out the festival.
I'm sure I'm missing some bands in here, I'm sure I'll miss some and catch others, too, but it's a quick guide to all of the great bands that are set to perform.
