I'm heading up to the Windy City to cover Lollapalooza 2010 in Chicago this weekend. The three-day festival is now in a single location, for all-day music.
Having been to Bonnaroo for the last four years and checking out Voodoo Fest last year in New Orleans, I'm curious to see how Lollapalooza stacks up. I remember going to Lolla the first few years back in the early '90s when it was headlined by Jane's Addiction, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Alice in Chains.
This year, the headliners are Lady Gaga, Green Day and a reunited Soundgarden. It should be interesting, to say the least.
Much like the coverage at those other festivals, I'll be posting daily blogs here and sending out Twitter messages to let you know what's going on.
As for the bands I'm hoping to check out here's a few:
The Neko Case show at the Knight Theatre on Aug. 20 has been canceled.
According to a statement that was released:
Due to an overextended work schedule , singer-songwriter Neko Case sincerely regrets that she will be postponing her previously scheduled August concert dates. Having been on the road non-stop since January of 2009, Neko will be taking some time off before hitting the road again this Fall. She wishes to apologize to her fans and let them know that she greatly appreciates all their support.
In celebration of the band's latest album, Croweology, and 20 years of making music, the band is releasing daily YouTube videos offering looks at their past for the next 20 days.
The first episode is about the band's tour with Aerosmith:

Future topics include:
· What really drives the relationship between CHRIS and his brother, guitarist RICH ROBINSON?
· How did the union of THE BLACK CROWES and Oasis on the Tour of Brotherly Love actually cancel out the feuds of both bands brothers?
· What about the bands recently announced lengthy hiatus that will begin when their upcoming SAY GOODNIGHT TO THE BAD GUYS 2010 tour ends this year with an epic six-night stand in San Francisco at The Fillmore December 12-19?
Here's a quick rundown of some of this week's new releases:
Arcade Fire The Suburbs

Buckcherry All Night Long
Govt Mule Mulennium
Lady Gaga The Remix
Los Lobos Tin Can Trust
Wavves King Of The Beach
