I have finally come to terms with the fact that I...am a freak of nature. I am actually kind of surprised that I havent been recruited for some traveling freak show.
Although I did get invited to get a backstage, sneak peak of the play Side Show, a musical depiction of the lives of the Hilton Sisters. No, not the Hilton sisters youd see on the cover of US Weekly, the ones youd see on the cover of Creative Loafing Siamese twins Daisy and Violet Hilton.
Dave Matthews Band

The Bubble Room Doesnt it sound like something out of the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory? Well, its actually right here at HOM.
HOM is trumping the typical VIP section, and sectioning off an entire room for the VIP (as in very INVITED people). The top level of Play will now be the Bubble Room. Bubbles as in champagne bubbles; theyll be offering an assortment of champagnes and hosting special champagne testings. Now thats what I call popping bubbly.
After my friend asked me about my week, he had to pause and ask ...."Who does your schedule?"
I do and I think I might have to fire myself.
Dub Auto Show
June 21, 2008
Charlotte Convention Center
By Mike McCray
The 2008 DUB Car Show drove through the Convention Center on Saturday with its own brand of flash and ass.
A welcome distraction to the showcase of cars you cant afford and women you couldnt get with was a concert that featured a bevy of local acts and basically DTPs entire roster.
Last night, I went out for the purpose of going to a benefit at the Wachovia Atrium for the Mental Health Association, and somehow ended up judging Whisky Rivers Boots & Bikini contest I swear I am not a mental health patient.
Although my friends may beg to differ.
They said I shouldve taken the short bus to the Atrium... so, I stood up for my shortness 52 baby! They just shook their head and said I reiterated their point.
The MHAs Lifting Spirits party wasnt insane... But it was some fundraising fun.
Bonnaroo
June 15, 2008
Manchester, Tenn.
I got three hours of sleep last night... Turns out that Kanye went on around 4:30 and played until 5:45. When people got back from the show, they blasted music through large speakers, continued drinking and woke up just about everyone in the camping area. "Welcome to Bonnaroo," right?
Sunday Funday at Summer Pops as in in Charlotte Symphony's Sunday summer concerts series in Symphony Park...at South Park. That's a lot of parks.
Speaking of which, good luck trying to find a place to park your car or your booty if you dont get there early. The best way to describe the crowd is well, crowded. It gets so crowded in fact that people go to the park around 8 a.m. to lay out blankets to reserve their spot for the 6:30 p.m. show. By noon, you cant even see the grass.
Bonnaroo
June 14, 2008
Manchester, Tenn.
The third day of Bonnaroo could almost be called Mudaroo, if not for a small miracle that turned into sunshine late in the morning. What started out as a rainy cold day, turned into the festival's best - not too hot, a little overcast and a perfect night.
A long set by Pearl Jam (setlist at the end), The Avett Brothers blowing everyone away and...well, did Kanye ever show up?
