Veterans & Athletes United Fallen Heroes Memorial
This 28 foot wide, 6 foot tall display was built by veterans, active duty volunteers and members of military families, the organization said.
"It is designed out of the close to
7,000 dog tags of all those who have fallen in the War on Terror," the
site said. "There are 50 gold stars honoring all Gold Star families nationwide. We hope to raise awareness of the sacrifice paid by our nations heroes that keep this country free and flying under one flag."
Displayed in front of the flag is a battle field cross sculpted from mahogany wood by female veteran artist
Alicia Dietz.
The mobile memorial is traveling to cities all across the country.
